Drams for Dads features a quartet of delicious casks to spoil the senses of any whisky lover! Our feast of flavours starts in the western Speyside with ‘Sweet, fruity & mellow’ Cask No. 55.69 Easy rider to gently welcome your tasting group with exotic fruits, light citrus and floral notes - a civilized and delicious way to start any flight. We now juxtapose two ‘Spicy & sweet’ casks to behold how different this profile can be. Cask No. 68.65 Floral laurel starts out with a chocolatey-nutty expression that coats the mouth before lightening up with cabinet spices, butterscotch and herbs. This distillery produces fascinating malts whether they are sherry- or bourbon-aged! Cask No. 48.130 Yellow smash delivers intensity of citrus and tropical fruits on a fresh and herbal palate that reminds our Tasting Panel of the citrus-fueled fun of a caipirinha cocktail. Cask No. 12.67 Horseback in the forest is a colourful ‘Deep, rich & dried fruits’ dram that unites ex-bourbon and charred red wine maturation for a ripe and raucous taste adventure! Dark cherry and strawberry notes greet us as fruitiness gives way to vanilla spice and dark chocolate on the compelling finish. Complexities of leather and herbal notes add to the symphony of flavours playing out in the glass. What a marvelous way to conclude our decadent flight. Slàinte!
