Notes
The nose wafted floral camomile tea and lemon peel, various berries (juniper, cranberry, blackcurrant); pottery straight from the kiln, perfume on a woolly jumper and something of an apothecary’s shop. The palate had blackcurrant and cranberry juiciness and tart, zesty lemonade; velvety caramel and condensed milk, some herbal hints and a dry finish of ginger, chilli and charred oak. Additional indulgences on the reduced nose included toasted almond croissants, peanut shells, liquorice and Ricola Swiss herbal sweets. The palate now suggested berries, nuts, twigs and orange blossom, with a touch of leather on the finish – altogether zingy and lip-smackingly tasty.
