Notes
About Mouthwatering mountaineering: From the very first distillery we ever released; the distillate created from direct-fired stills is a robust one designed to withstand years of sherry cask maturation. We’re lucky to experience the “naked” distillate here from an ex-bourbon cask. These bottlings are among the most intriguing to explore.
Tasting Panel Note: Ice axes in hand, crampons on feet, and dried fruit tropical trail mix in the bag, we began our ascent. Clambering along marshmallow crags, we fixed anchors into pineapple walls, and traversed across ripe melon rock faces. We paused on a high ridge, cracked open the champagne, and looked out over vast lochs of light treacle. After a drop of water we ventured higher, working our way through a tricky sultana scree slope, as boulders of baked apples tumbled down. We finally reached the pinnacle of the pineapple, and rewarded ourselves with chunks of dark chocolate, ginger biscuits, and candied peel soaked in maple syrup.
