June Mid-Month Outturn

Happy Summer! It’s the first day of a new season and we welcome it with five (5) newly released Society casks for members to explore! A Taste of Summer packs a powerful flavour punch with cask strength expressions from the Speyside, Highlands and Lowlands certain to heat up your summer solstice!

A wonderful spread of ages and five unique flavour profiles in June’s mid-month outturn set the scene for a vibrant display of character! Cask No. 9.215 Playing in the long grass entices with ripe stone fruits, fragrant herbs and fresh grass notes to start. Then, as we usually excpect with this distillery, the richness comes in waves of chocolate fudge, vanilla and incredible texture on the palate. Equally compelling is Cask No. 5.83 Bowled over that strikes a balance between the vividly fruity, seductively savoury and perfectly textured palate that will shine all summer long. Our A Taste of Summer bundle features a trio of casks perfect to pop at your next beach party, barbecue or al fresco dinner. Cask No. 73.129 In the fields boasts a richly satisfying malt this distillery is known for – vanilla, malt, oak spice and citrus fruits all come across on the full-bodied palate. Cask No. 44.147 Worm cinders benefits from both American oak sherry and Spanish oak sherry maturation for a tour de force of flavour that is at once sweet, savoury and utterly irresistible. We’re on island time with our peated single malt. Cask No. 4.282 A bothy amongst mountain heather expresses Orkney Island peat in a wonderfully classic way. Heather and honey fueled smoke frames a nuanced palate of fruits and confections, delivering fragrance, depth and intensity. This might be the perfect dram for your beach bonfire!

Embrace all the season’s fun, fare and flavour with these exciting new casks! The Society’s Scott Brunow sat down with our friends and special guests The Bourbon Junkies to taste today’s entire release. Click here to check out their thoughts on today’s casks.
