March Mid-Month Outturn
It’s the first day of a brand-new season…. let’s refresh our whisky collection and Spring into Flavour! Today, we proudly offer five (5) newly released Society casks from the Speyside and Campbeltown that are boldly and beautifully different. Let’s jump in with a distillery we always love to welcome back and revisit. Cask No. 2.135 Afternoon on the lawn boasts richness of make and a robust barrel maturation for maximum enjoyment. Ripe orchard fruits are bolstered by vanilla, honey and a perfect measure of malty intensity create sheer joy on the palate. Cask No. 6.57 Something for the weekend will get your palate primed at whopping 65% ABV, but just beneath that heat lies a complex tapestry of fruits, flowers and dessert course delights to be discovered!
Why not get the band back together and host a Society-themed tasting? Our Spring into Flavour! bundle is certain to get the cask strength conversation started. It’s April in Seville with Cask No. 39.230 Days of spring as herbs, flowers, fruit blossoms and spices frame citrus, dried fruits and waxy texture in this seasonal sensation. The same flavour profile yields a completely different flavour experience with Cask No. 72.109 Orchestral manoeuvres in the cask. Maturation in both an Oloroso sherry butt and a heavily charred puncheon yields an astonishing combination of caramel, toffee, cabinet spices and vanilla-citrus desserts with brown breads, smoked meats and oaky notes…. a mouthful of fun! Cask No. 93.182 Campfire cookout offers the spoils of coastal Campbeltown in a textured dram that will excite the senses. Its richness of aromas leads to different versions of smokiness – from ash to smoked meats to seaside bonfires – that will have you coming back for another dram.
The Society’s Scott Brunow and Jenna Elie had the enviable task of tasting these casks last night! Click here to check out what they thought about today’s releases. Enjoy all the fun and fare springtime has to offer, and may your glass be filled with the best whisky on the planet!
