Notes

The Whisky Gathering bundle spans Highland, Speyside and Islay distilleries to offer you and your whisky-loving friends a dynamic tasting selection to celebrate with! Our September ‘high five’ of flavour profiles will delight the senses in unforgettable fashion. Let’s kick it off with a ‘Sweet, Fruity & Mellow’ Highland malt in Cask No. 108.30 Pleasant affair and discover the unpeated side of this rarely released distillery. Bursting with orchard fruit, fruity desserts and honey, this silky palate shows remarkable balance and is a lovely dram to start. Cask No. 46.108 Tip 'n' sip from our ‘Juicy, Oak & Vanilla’ flavour profile exhibits the opulent side of this floral and fantastic make with wildflowers, heather, tropical fruits and more leathery notes and spicy oak on the finish. Another rare bird to be spotted out of the eastern Highlands, Cask No. 82.33 Frolicking flavours flaunts our ‘Spicy & Sweet’ flavour profile at its very best – a bevy of baked goods redolent with fruits, spices and vanilla greet you in a balanced and complex delivery. We turn to the islands for our next dynamic duo, specifically Orkney and Islay. Cask No. 4.275 Wood-burner in a coastal bothy is the next release in a string of homeruns from this member favourite distillery. Still retaining the trademark elements of heather and honey, this expression’s ‘Lightly Peated’ profile has a deeper edge to it. Bonfire and cigar smoke melt into coffee, carrot cake, bourbon and vanilla on the sea breezy palate. Cask No. 10.216 Creels and harbours was matured in ex-bourbon cask and a toasted oak hogshead before bottling and belongs to another highly regarded distillery among our ‘tar-lifers’. This ‘Peated’ pour retains its maritime identity throughout nosing and tasting with sweeter accents of maple bacon and pastries, smoky intensity and refreshing spice on the finish. A complex mouthful of pure Islay bliss that packs plenty of punch! We hope this gathering of Society casks will provide much pleasure for your gathering of like-minded whisky explorers!
