Wow, we just opened the oven door to see how our honey-glazed, roasted root vegetables were doing and they were fine, sweet and slightly tangy as we added a little sherry vinegar to the glaze. Challenging to start with on the palate, but after the initial shock flavours, of candy corn, red cola and Turkish delight appeared. Following the necessary reduction, we found the alluring scent of sweet and salty popcorn, pancakes and almonds roasted in cinnamon and sugar. To taste, a winter-spiced cherry and plum pie alongside fig rolls, all washed down with a spiced rum slush.
