Layers of lemon sandwiched sweet notes of light honey and tart fruit. Lemon zest rested on pencil shavings and herbal hues that moved into freshly cut grass. Then lemon curd stuck beside toffee sauce with the invigorating sense of strong mint sweets. Lemon sponge cake created a soft base for orange icing and sprinklings of sherbet whilst juicy fruit arrived in the form of greengages and gooseberries. A wedge of fudge introduced lemon drizzle cake with scones and clotted cream just as sticky baklava brought its irresistible temptation. Finally a touch of peppermint came in a breeze through a pine forest after the rain.
