The 2022 Gathering Collection was chosen specially for American members of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society by well-known actor, comedian, and fellow SMWS member Neil Patrick Harris! Hailing from member-favourite distilleries and bottled in the 700mL international format, Speyside and Highland expressions will take you on unforgettable taste adventures as only Society single cask whisky can! Let’s dive in with Cask No. 41.143 A junior suite at the cask resort for big, bold notes of sherry garnered from a 1^st fill Spanish oak Oloroso cask. Dried fruits, nuts, chocolate and cherries are all waiting to caress your senses as you check in to your single cask suite! Cask No. 63.82 Two middle fingers of scotch is a raucous expression of sherry-fueled fun in your glass. Also from a 1^st fill Spanish oak Oloroso cask, this dram introduces more sugar, spice and all things nice, including caramelized fruits, herbs and a supremely silky finish. We should note that both casks spent time in American oak Oloroso casks before additional maturation, so whisky lovers are in for twice the sherry cask character from two types of oak! Let’s cool off the palate with a smoky sensation from the Highlands – Cask No. 16.56 Distill my peating heart offers a parade of peated flavours like ash, herbs, roasted meats and medicinal elements for incredible depth.
