Cask No. 7.247

Minty seahorse bandage

Speyside, Lossie

The rum aspect was immediately loud but strikingly well integrated. Lots of fruity esters, fermented bananas, bandages in a swimming pool, pears baked in calvados, mint julep cocktails and caraway. The minty notes quickly gained in stature and delivered a blast of spearmint gum and something akin to smashing polo mints with a hammer! Water settled things and brought curry leaf, chopped coriander, ginger beer and lime juice drizzled over hessian cloth. The mouth was full of fermenting fruits, brown sugar, bicycle inner tubes and dunder notes. Water brought out exotic fruit chutneys, lemon balm, cough medicine and cheesecloth. Animalistic game meats and Barbour grease in the aftertaste. Previously in a bourbon barrel for 14 years before being transferred to a refill Nicaraguan rum barrel.
