Tasting Panel Notes
The nose conjured scenes of sunlit lemon groves, bees buzzing around honeysuckle and lavender, and ice cream cones with raspberry sauce. The palate had poppy seeds on lemon drizzle cake, vanilla custard and little chocolate sweets in a candy shell, while the finish carried subtle hints of peanut butter, pretzels and candied orange peel. The reduced nose evoked a garden centre coffee shop, cane furniture and syrupy cherries, and banana fritters with ice-cream and coconut shavings. The reduced palate combined lemon puff biscuits and Danish pastries with passion fruit puree; the bittersweet finish amused us with coconut husk, crystallised ginger and oak.
