Notes

About There's a lot going on: While many of you already know the pedigree of Distillery 9, this cask will impress with its complexity. An array of orchard fruits and tropical fruits are joined by caramel and vanilla with gingery spice. As if that’s not enough to entice you, the texture on this 18-year-old beauty is remarkable!

Tasting Panel Note: Sweet and fruity aromas suggested apple crumble with custard and strawberry sweets plus vanilla, tropical fruits, and ginger biscuits. Earthy notes then emerged of crunchy leaves and fresh peas with dry straw. Abundant sweetness of coconut, rich tea biscuits and fudge on the palate made way for peppery spices, cinnamon and ginger before apricots, peaches and bananas merged on the finish. Water enticed an oiliness from the spirit alongside banoffee pie, Turkish delight, and meringue on a bed of toasted coconut. The palate still tingled but now with crystalised ginger and wasabi before caramel, chocolate and rum and raison fudge combined with citrus and marshmallows.
