Distillery 60 is the best-selling single malt for drinks giant Bacardi for a simple reason – this malt is simply fantastic. Brimming with flowers, herbs, waxy texture and bright fruit, it’s just so easy to slurp up. If there is such a thing as a session whisky, this is it.

Tasting Panel Notes

The nose opened with a gently floral, hibiscus aroma, one which also incorporated cream soda, light fruit teas, gooseberry and meadowsweet. We also detected green tea, a spritzed bitter Italian aperitif of gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona, and the light perfume of geranium flower. Reduction brought a dusty cereal edge and revealed shoe polish, rye bread and trampled dandelion. The neat palate was nicely waxy, evoking putty, grappa, fruit eaux de vie and yellow fruits. With water it became slightly drier and showed camphor, peach yoghurt, white buttered bread and sunflower oil.
