Notes
An immediate and evidently superb example of this Islay stalwart. Green olives in brine, lemon air freshener, salty rock pools evaporating in the sun and impressions of burnt rosemary and thyme. Water brought sweetness and a distinctive petrolic edge, crushed mint leaves, smoked eucalyptus and smoked olive oil. The palate was initially full of aniseed distillate, pink sea salt and with a softer than usual, deeply intricate peat smoke. Gentle but complex. Water brought aromatic heather qualities, preserved lemons, a kiss of wispy peat smoke and a mix of pure seawater and pink grapefruit. Soft, elegant and superb!
