Notes

About Pencil cases on the palate: We are still gushing about the festival releases from distillery 5 and are very happy to see this 19-year-old  now available. Don’t let the name fool you, this is a fruit syrup party - tropical, stone and berry fruits have all come to play with oak and spice!

Tasting Panel Note: Sweetly scented aromas of cherry blossom, banana and wafer biscuits combined with the juicy fruits of ripe pineapple, melon, red berries and banana in a concentrated cordial. Spicy wood and pencil cases on the palate ventured through cinnamon sticks and cloves before a burst of fruit delivered passionfruit, peaches, apricots and wild strawberries. Adding water created an apple theme on the nose, coated with dried coconut and lime marmalade before being served on rice pudding. The juicy notes had now become tinned fruit salad mixed with caramel, buttered toast and fresh oak sawdust.
