The nose is attractive, like early summer hedgerows – flourishing, fresh, fragrant, floral and herbal – almost buzzing with bees – and sweet too – candied angelica, pineapple humps and Ruffle bars (dark chocolate, raspberry and coconut). The palate has honey, golden syrup, jam tarts, banoffie pie, cherry and chocolate, with oak, leather, citrus and spice playing on the tongue later. The reduced nose is even more floral and attractive – ‘wedding cake and posies’, ‘a garden centre in bloom’. The reduced palate – coconut macaroons, crystallised pineapple, brandy snaps, lemon drizzle cake, agave syrup and lychees with ice-cream, with unassuming oak and tobacco on the finish.
