Notes
A deep and dark aroma ascended as we got drawn deeper and deeper into the glass. Coffee, toffee, tobacco, molasses, Demerara sugar and cold-pressed walnut oil all came to mind. An amazing silky texture neat, like a spoonful of resinous dark wood, honey with a distinct earthy flavour complimented by malty and toffee notes. Even with the addition of water, we still found ourselves in a black hole from which nothing can escape, yet we imagined dreamy dark chocolate mousse, dark honeycomb chocolate and dark roast espresso. At thirteen years of age, we combined selected casks from the same distillery. We then returned the single malt into a variety of different casks to develop further. This is one of those casks.
