Lavender mixed with coal, creosote and liquorice before the sweetness of hazelnuts and digestive biscuits balanced the salt of crushed sea shells and fishing tackle. On the palate elements of scorched earth and charcoal mixed with herbal cough syrup while tangy barbecue sauce coated toasted cereals complimented by smoky mezcal. With water a heavy maritime influence suggested ship's ropes and thick tar with seaweed, barnacles and mussels. Hints of coffee liqueur and burnt herbs then joined tropical fruits and brambles before the finish evolved into singed lemon, crushed charcoal and roasted chestnuts dipped in sea salt.
