An intriguing dram, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The nose combined sweet (candy canes, caramel, custard, Cadbury creme egg) with sour (Morello cherries, plum tart, three fruit marmalade). On the initial palate, the sweetness of lebkuchen, sherbet straws, marzipan, jellybeans and cherry chocolate gave way to a feisty finish of pakora, gingerbread and wasabi heat. The reduced nose was an unexpected evocation of springtime, with wildflowers, cherry blossoms, marshmallows, raspberry sauce on ice-cream cones and freshly laundered linen. The palate now delighted us with cherry tart, blood orange sorbet and amaretto, and tannic oak, cigars and curry leaf on the finish.
