Cask No. 134.9The Scotch Malt Whisky Society
Cask No. 134.9
Starting with spotted dick and custard, the nose expands in fruitiness (pineapple, stewed apple, marmalade), slowly becoming more exotic, even developing hints of eastern spice. The immediate palate offers cherry, cooking apple and jammy dodger, then mango chutney, spiced raisins, dates and Peshawari naan; the finish discovers spice powders and tree bark. On the reduced nose, moist gingerbread, spiced plums, fig rolls, spun sugar and flambéed banana with cinnamon evoke warm, healing sunshine. The palate becomes smoother with golden syrup, toffee apple and a curiosity cabinet of birnbrot, stollen and hot cross buns – sugar and spice and all things nice!

About Cask 134.9 Evokes sunshine:
This distillery's proximity to the equator creates a stunning angel’s share (alcohol evaporation) of up to 8% per year, compared to 1-2% in Scotland, offering malts of complexity and maturation well beyond their years. Cask 134.9 lives up to its “Deep, Rich & Dried Fruits” flavour profile in the most delicious way. Adventurous whisky and food matchers will discover a bevy of taste adventures with this lively malt. The spices prevalent in traditional Indian cuisine will enhance your tasting experience as easily as the cabinet spices in a piece of apple pie or pear tart with ice cream on top!
