Cask No. 108.16
Buttery salty caramel
Speyside, Spey
This is going to be good. The nose comes to life straight away with coastal aromas, a seafood platter, cinder toffee and molasses. Mentholic and slightly herbal aromas (tea tree oil) add to a sense of place. The taste is buttery salty caramel with wood char and sweet smoked lobster. The mounthfeel is waxy with a little heat from gentle spices, menthol and carbolic soap. Add water for sweet creamy vanilla and hard toffee aromas. Fruity malt loaf, smoky summer fruit cordial and light medicinal notes. A very well balanced and sweet taste with more smoke, cereals , flowers and a waxy and mentholic finish.
