About A Highlander Abroad: Our US exclusive Burns Night bottling hails from a storied Highland distillery known for its sherry-matured whisky. The warming sweetness and exotic appeal of this malt will offer much pleasure on Burns Night and throughout the year.

Tasting Panel Note: One Panellist was transported to a spice market in North Africa while another moved back a century in time to sit in the historic Paris opera, the Palais Garnier, watching Carmen. On the palate we were all back in the same place and time as we described the mouthfeel as gently warming and mellowly sweet, like a hazelnut hot chocolate with whipped cream. We all agreed it was better neat. With water the scent of a malt loaf with melted butter and sea buckthorn oil appeared while, to taste, we found Moroccan hummus on oatcakes and tomato chutney. Following eight years in an ex-bourbon barrel, we transferred this whisky into a first fill American oak oloroso hogshead.
