The Gathering High Five bundle offers a master class in cask maturation for you and your whisky-loving friends to enjoy! This high five of flavour is certain to impress. We kick things off with a unique red wine maturation in Cask No. 100.40 Well red. An Australian Shiraz cask endows the Speyside dram with ripe cassis and Port notes to complement vanilla sweetness and pleasing spices. Cask No. 95.67 Cosy with a kick features maturation in a PX hogshead delivering rich and spicy chocolate, baking spices and more in this bold malt. We switch to Oloroso sherry with Cask No. 18.51 Dark and decadent where dark chocolate is joined by darker beer, dark fruits and black liquorice. This palate has plenty of depth and nuance to coax out of the glass. We switch gears to peated whisky now, with selections from the Orkney Islands and Eastern Highlands. Cask No. 4.328 Meets expectations presents a lovely dram with the perfect combination of elegant smoke and maritime complexity whilst Cask No. 66.229 Tarred and re-feathered is a wee bit more outspoken in the glass as peated malt and PX sherry maturation join forces. The result is a boisterous and beautiful expression redolent with campfire smoke, game meats, dark confections and whiffs of Islay-inspired tar and iodine. A real stunner!
