Notes
Celebrate International Women’s Day with two extraordinary casks chosen by an all-female tasting panel! In celebration of last year’s International Women’s Day, this tasting panel of exceptional palates carefully selected a handful of different casks for this year’s celebration. Today, a remarkable duo of 20-year-old malts is ready for your collection!
Cask No. 9.291 Roll on a happy hay bale offers a panoply of luscious fruits, runny honey and pronounced maltiness in a mouth-watering delivery from full term in a 1st fill ex-bourbon barrel. This is ex-bourbon maturation at its finest from a very fine distillery, indeed! Cask No. 35.382 A humble mountain feast exudes exotic aromas and flavours from maturation in an Oloroso butt for 14 years and a PX butt for another 6 years! All this sherry influence yields luscious notes of salted caramel, spiced rum, chocolate and roasted coffee to complement more savoury umami accents for an invigorating sipper. Yet another stunning expression from this distillery that continues its meteoric rise! Articles from Mhairi Mitchell and Julie Roberts in this month’s Unfiltered uncover the picks of this year’s International Women’s Day bottlings and the initiative of Our Whisky Foundation, a mentorship program to support women working in the whisky industry, at the heart of this special release.
If ordered separately: Cask No. 9.291= $290; Cask No. 35.382= $300.
