Tasting Panel Notes
We entered a carpenter’s workshop with the intense scent of oak, almost burnt, after it has been cut with a circular blade, plus plenty of sawdust and wood varnish – quiet intoxicating. A rousing taste awaited us – salted caramels, autumn-spiced apple pie, chilli beef tortilla wraps with sour cream and guacamole – certainly characterful! Water added a surprising elegance to the nose as cinnamon French toast, Belgian wheat beer, crispy green apples and a mint julep cocktail emerged. On the palate, we enjoyed a refreshing pressed apple juice with elderflower as well as roasted strawberry bavarois with dandelion and burdock jelly.
