Big, bold and beautiful
Highland, Southern
We all detected a characterful fruity aroma we described as cherry-topped cheesecake, a spicy marshmallow strawberry mousse as well as a raisin and red wine compote. On the palate plenty of spice at first but at the same time the succulent sweetness of grapes and peaches. Â The reduced nose offered additionally fig rolls, vanilla chocolate chip cookies, orange oil and sweet tobacco. The taste a sweet, juicy, fruity flavour was followed by a pleasant spiciness like a confit of rhubarb with orange and tarragon while in the finish a purple plum torte. After seven years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, we transferred this whisky into a 1st fill PX hogshead.Â
