Notes

About Juicy and intense: Cask No. 68.128 ‘Juicy and intense’ is a lead character in Across the Finish Line. This one is for you, DRDF fans! To create this one, we took a 16-year-old Speyside whisky, matured for 11 years in an ex bourbon hogshead followed and transferred it to a 1st fill Pedro Ximénez ex-Bodega barrique for 5 years. Think rich, dark fruit, sticky toffee, and that signature PX sweetness dialed up to eleven Basically, it’s dessert in a glass—but with backbone.

Tasting Panel Note: This one was very aromatic from the word go. We found redcurrants, dark chocolate, sultanas, dried mango, tobacco, leather and a sprinkling of black pepper. Warm, thick, rich and velvety smooth on the neat palate, it was like lamb loin with a dark chocolate port sauce – delicious! After the addition of a drop of water we discovered a bowl full of roasted mixed nuts next to stewed apples, rosemary and thyme sausages, and maple syrup. To taste, we found a dark berry compote, hot vanilla sauce and a glass of lemberger, also known as blaufränkisch, wine. Following 11 years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, we transferred this whisky into a first fill ex-bodega PX barrique.  Australian muscat barrique.
