A fruity and suggestive nose. Brimming with cheeky notes of mango, pineapple, creamy fruit syrups and pear liqueur. Rounded, expressive and enveloping. Further notes of creamy vanilla custard, fresh garden fruits and an assertive lick of white pepper. With water comes cocoa-dusted orange slices, marshmallows in hot chocolate, dried papaya, raisins in cream sherry and strawberries drizzled with aged balsamic. The delivery on the palate is strong and punchy but the sherry is pronounced and well-balanced. Hot gingerbread, fig jam and caramelised onions with lots of chocolate sauce, pineapple syrups, foam bananas and mint imperial sweets in the background. With water there's barley sugars, caramel, orange essence, more cocoa powder, nutmeg and cinnamon sweets. A lush and easy sherry character with multitudinous confectionery notes and a nervous earthiness. Matured for five years in an oloroso sherry butt before being transferred to second-fill PX sherry butt.
