On first nosing we spread Manuka honey on brown toast before we poured raspberry sauce over a banana split accompanied by, straight from the oven, cinnamon berry granola bars. To taste, sweet and fruity like toffee apples or boozy banana bread muffins with spiced rum. With some water, honey and maple roasted parsnips as well as sweet potato wedges appeared whilst on the palate we were biting into a forest fruits yoghurt & muesli cereal bar or delving into cherry cream cheese cupcakes with a vanilla wafer crust. After twelve years in an ex-bourbon hogshead we transferred this whisky into a 1st fill barrique, which had been shaved, toasted and re-charred.
