A waft of floral scents joined cox apples, juniper berries and wood shavings against a backdrop of strawberry sherbet, cinnamon and caramel biscuits. On the palate a huge smack of chilli heat met an equally massive amount of sweetness as cloves, ginger and cinnamon rolled into exotic fruit, lime marmalade and strawberry jam. Adding water delved into childhood memories of sticky sweets in paper bags and balsa wood model kits with marzipan on cakes and the perfumed spice of frankincense. Flavours now foraged through ginger, peppermint and cassia bark while tropical fruit sizzled on a barbecue with honey and toasted oak.
