About That's real swell: Distillery 48 creates consistently complex malts that afford loads of richness. We think these are easily some of the most compelling malts and a steal for the price tag. Check out this one that offers tangy fruits and creamy confections.
Tasting Panel Note: This one had a bit of everything with menthol muscle rub, banana liqueur, after-sun lotion, grapefruit juice as well as gooseberry and elderflower jam. Pretty sharp and tangy on the palate neat but with the underlying sweetness of chewy mint humbugs, those mint flavoured sweets with a toffee centre. After the addition of water, we stirred honey, vanilla and cinnamon into Greek yoghurt and then layered it with crisp apples and applesauce, while to taste summer fruit barley water, and a tropical muffin, made with banana, coconut and pineapple, and not to forget the finish, fruits of the forest ice cream sundae - tangy, sweet, refreshing and creamy.
