Cask No. 46.85
Teasing, tingling and tropical
Speyside, Lossie
Biscuits (party rings, lemon puffs) and cakes, apricot Danish, pineapple and vanilla grace the nose – then it turns fresher and brighter, like sunlight on lemon-scented yellow roses. To taste, it’s perfumed, fruity, sweet and juicy (lemon drizzle cake and exotic fruits) but it evaporates leaving a dry, lip-tingling finish of cumin, liquorice and oak. The reduced nose is attractive and exotic – pineapple tarts, sherbet lemons, mango, roasted peach, ice-cream and Battenberg cake. The palate tastes older than it is with teasing citrus and tropical mix (dried coconut, pineapple, banana and papaya); spiced fruits, pine and sweet oak tingle the satisfying after-taste.
