A treat to lift the soul
Speyside, Lossie
The nose seems pink and purple – heather and violets, carnation, fuchsia and rose; marshmallows, pink wafers, blackcurrant jam and Maoams. The palate has tutti frutti, blue raspberry sweets and a lively citric fizz (bitter lemon or a classic champagne cocktail) – then the finish has suggestions of leather, wood and lime peel. The reduced nose is still wonderfully perfumed – elderflower and lily, physalis, Turkish Delight and sandalwood and rose joss sticks. The palate now gets pink gin and tonic, grown up Haribos and a mouth-drying finish of redcurrants, custard and apple sweets and chilli jam. An absolute treat to lift the soul.
