Cask No. 2.111

A dram for all seasons

Speyside, Spey

This very pale whisky starts with aromas of mash, barley, hay and old flowers followed by fresh fruits. Bananas combine with peach and melon in condensed milk. Add a few raisins too. There’s a pleasantly heady sweetness – vanilla, honey, (buttery) fudge, milk chocolate and coconut. The taste is spicy (white pepper), sweet (honey, cream, fruit salad) and fresh (sappy, juicy) with a drying finish. Adding water brings it to life – heady and rich (dunnage warehouse) banana and honey on buttered toast with brown sugar. Followed by orange marmalade, honey nut cornflakes and peaches in syrup. Take a sip and light spices emerge with vanilla in creamy hot milk, fresh fruits and pencil shavings. Also a chilli pepper sweetness without the heat. Delicious!
