Agave, soot, pine resin, crushed Brazil nuts, pollen and beeswax all greeted the Panel at first nosing. We found a robust and intriguing dram displaying tertiary notes of retsina wine, warm coal hearths, toasted coriander seed and gooseberry jam. Water gave us mint tea, an abundance of grassy and herbal qualities and sandalwood, nettles and warm flat bread. In the mouth we found spiced vegetable crisps, lemon oils, camphor, tea tree oil, treacle and subtle notes of ointment and throat sweets. Dilution brought pineapple jelly babies, buttered toast, icing sugar, lime marmalade and malt loaf.
