An array of sweet goodies was on offer with cherry tartlets, carrot cake, gingerbread, and brandy snaps all with the additional spike of oak aged plum brandy. On the palate neat the Slivovitz turned into a young racy Amontillado with hints of nutty aromas like almonds and pecan possibly in a pie served with whipped cream or a scoop of honey nut ice cream. Following reduction, we now found the pecan in a sweet sticky maple Danish as we poured a caramelised orange sauce together with hoisin sauce and a spoonful of honey into a Chinese stir fry. Following eight years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, we transferred this whisky into a 1st fill Oloroso hogshead.
