Distillery 76 is lovingly referred to as ‘The Beast from Dufftown’ and was this Speyside village’s very first distillery (est. 1823). Why ‘the beast’? The distillate produced here is robust, savoury and meaty derived from an old school distillation process that includes the use of worm tubs for condensing the spirit. Six widely varied stills are used to create a unique 2.81 times-distilled spirit, which then sees very limited copper contact in the worm tub condenser. It is well known to be supremely age worthy and today’s cask is a shining example. The ‘Old & Dignified’ flavour profile is wee-represented with Cask No. 76.153, offering your senses decadent aromas and flavours of rich confections and exotic spices deepened by notes of leather and fine herbs. A positively brilliant dram to sip and savour with your closest friends and family!
