About Contrast and balance: This isn’t any grain whisky – this is 100% MALTED BARLEY distilled in a column still. And this expression may just win BEST IN SHOW! If you haven’t had a bottle from G15 distillery, this one is a no-brainer!
Tasting Panel Note: Inviting aromas of peaches and cream, and bananas flambéed in cognac, joined cashew nuts, sesame seeds and the light aromas of seaweed and oak ash. The palate, however, was a much heavier affair. Earthy rhubarb, burnt toffee and nutmeg moved towards barbecued prawns with liquorice and tar suggesting sticky medicinal cough mixture. Undeterred by a healthy dose of water, lemon and apple juice combined with salty sea air and marshmallows toasted on a beach bonfire. Back to the palate and liquorice sweets now joined smoked mackerel with burnt toast, scorched pine nuts and a fragrant waft of violet-flavoured sweets.
