Notes
The nose tussled with us for a few brief moments before reluctantly yielding rathe delicious aromas of hessian, Battenberg cake, ripe yellow plums and tiger balm. A familiar 'big' distillate with eucalyptus resins and hints of cigarette rolling paper. Water brought lime juice, camphor and golden sultanas, also sheep wool oils, wintergreen and mechanical fluids on tool box rags. Brimming with character we agreed. The neat palate opened with a surprise hit of vanilla milkshake, before veering off to more familiar territory of citronella waxes, lemon curd, putty and a nibble of cask char. Water brought out more plums - plum jam this time - blackcurrant leaf, kirsch and plum eau de vie.
