A wry smile

Speyside, Spey

Enticing aromas from a perfumery introduced fragrant rosewater whilst mille feuille, Black Forest gateau and icing sugar combined on a bed of filo pastry. Then vibrant eucalyptus, hazelnuts and pine merged with a smile to conjure memories of rye whiskey with a pleasing pink peppercorn dry spice. Black cherries continued on the palate with a sprinkling of brown sugar before mango arrived with a squeeze of lime juice. Water summoned buttery textures of croissants that married with the warmth of black pepper and the oils of pastrami. A dry and wood driven demeanour found balance alongside melted chocolate and vanilla pods with floral notes of rose and hyacinth merging into banana on the finish.
