As our Festival Season reaches its climax, we are thrilled to present two (2) new celebratory bottlings in commemoration of the Islay Whisky Festival! The Islay Whisky Festival commences this Friday at The Islay House with The Scotch Malt Whisky Society hosting members from around the world as thousands of whisky lovers descend on the tiny Hebridean island of Islay. The weeklong festival features scores of events and tastings with special releases from each active distillery on the island. These releases prove to be some of the most elusive and sought-after in the world. Our offerings today, sporting a specially designed label by British designer Michael A. Hall and international bottle format (700mL), take us to the sandy beaches of Loch Indaal and the calming Sound of Islay with two perfectly peated casks for your collection!
Distillery 3 Rare Release Time Travellers is an enchanting dram, perfect if you are seeking an elegant touch of peat in the glass. Bursting with floral elegance and tropical character, the smoke is more perfumed and persistent throughout the palate, treating us to a complex and captivating dram. Distillery 53 Rare Release Throw the Cork Away! unites a robust smokiness with luscious Oloroso sherry character for a dram you won’t be able to put down! The spirit spent time in bourbon hogsheads before we transferred it for more than two years to first fill American oak oloroso hogsheads from our partners at Tevasa cooperage in Jerez. That’s given the whisky a great mix of a more full-on Islay peaty character with dark, nutty and sweet oloroso sherry. This duo offers very different and equally compelling expressions from an island that has captured the hearts and minds of whisky lovers the world over!
